The Line Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore. The Line has raised the bar for the already demanding expectations of the dining scene in Singapore. This 390-seat ultra modern, all-day dining restaurant replaces the traditional Coffee Garden located at the hotel’s Tower Wing Lower Lobby Level. A series of glowing orange glass boxes—traveling throughout the entire ceiling and floor space—is the connecting element that brings together the wide variety of exquisite cuisine and dining areas. The light symbolizes the inspiration found behind The Line of continuity—in nature, culture, family, life. The overall look is distinctive with modern touches such as four custom-made art films by New York filmmaker Bram Tihany. Primarily a self-service restaurant, diners can choose from a series of 12 pavilions housing display kitchens for 10 major cuisines—from Western and Italian to Sushi and Dim Sum—and each is intended to emphasize freshness in food preparation and presentation.
