Sirio ARIA at CityCenter, Las Vegas, NV.  Tihany Design collaborated with the Maccioni family for the seventh time on this new contemporary restaurant, acting as a design consultant for HKS Architects. Named after the family’s patriarch, the restaurant is situated on the second level of ARIA at CityCenter. Inspired by ‘La Dolce Vita,’ a glamorous era defined by the movie stars, paparazzi, and style of Rome, Tihany’s design employs brilliant contrasts using sleek, clean, linear lines reminiscent of Italian design from the ‘50s and ’60’s and juxtaposing them with vibrant interiors filled with bright lighting and vivid colors. With its open layout, the café is the place to see and be seen in keeping with ‘La Dolce Vita’ attitude and lifestyle. The notable ceiling in the dining room is an inverted dome with a custom cast silver leaf pattern; simple structurally, but ornate in detail. An immense all-white open pantry showcases a variety of colorful, fresh Italian antipasti, inspiring the appetites of surrounding guests. Much like an Italian grocery, deli produce, cheese, meat, and wine are also on display, creating a feast for the eyes. Guests in the dining room enjoy glimpses of the glass-encased wine room located in the café area, enhancing the Italian experience for all. A specially commissioned collection of black and white photographs of Italian scenery by New York-based photographer and artist Bram Tihany, transport diners directly to the streets of Italy and complement the restaurants Fellini-esque impression.
