The Joule, A Luxury Collection Hotel Dallas, Texas. Located in the heart of one of America’s most dynamic cities, The Joule is one of Dallas’s most stylish and contemporary hotels. Adam D. Tihany conceived the 129-room boutique hotel, rooftop pool, and public spaces with effortless elegance, putting The Joule in a unique class of its own. Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth is the inspiration behind the design concept. This idea, paired with the rich patina of Texan culture and energy, results in a sensuous hospitality experience.

Housed in a landmark neo-gothic building, the hotel’s lobby blends purposeful contemporary design with restored historic finishes. A slowly rotating black iron gear feature, evoking the spirit of the early pioneers in search of energy sources, is situated in the back of the lobby and serves as the focal point. The building’s legacy of scale allows for high columns which are enhanced with new sweeping dark lime oak beam details that perimeter the room. Deep purples, grays and black mingle with brighter accent colors to create a rich and lush space that is comfortable and chic. Bespoke details throughout the hotel give The Joule unique character and style.

A noteworthy attraction is the custom black and white urban photographs by Bram Tihany, specially commissioned for this project. The photographic collection explores the downtown Dallas area in its social, architectural and artistic light. The photographs will be a fitting backdrop to the deep blue, gray and burgundy toned rooms, and special duplex suites. Tihany crowned his hotel design for the Joule with a dramatic, cantilevered rooftop pool off of the 10th floor outdoor terrace. Extending beyond the building lines over the streets of Dallas, the pool features a clear Plexiglass back wall that rewards those who swim to its edge with a spectacular view of the city below.
